Brigadier Gen. Ransome-Kuti, Sentenced to 6 Months in Prison For Letting Boko Haram Capture Baga

Brigadier General Ransome-Kuti, has been sentenced to six months in prison for letting Boko Haram capture Baga. 


 

He was sentenced by a military court and will be dismissed from the Army if the sentence is confirmed by the Nigerian Army. 

Brigadier General Ransome-Kuti was accused of dereliction of his duties, which the army believes, led to the capture of Baga, by the Boko Haram insurgents. He was also accused of failing to account for the weapons and ammunition under his supervision, which made it impossible for the army to effectively tackle the insurgents.
