See 4 Versions of How APC's Prince Audu Died

There's still a lot surrounding the death of APC's Kogi gubernatorial candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Until an official announcement has been made, speculations will abound. Here are four reported versions of how the almost-Kogi governor elect died:

According to Premium Times,Prince Audu started complaining of stomach cramps on Saturday, the day of the gubernatorial election.

“He suffered a stroke this morning. Another one occurred this afternoon and that was fatal.”

PM News on the other hand, said he suffered a massive stroke around 3:10 pm on Sunday, and died in his village of Ogbonicha.

He was said to have been vomiting blood at some stage, but was stabilised by doctors around him.

The paper said his condition deteriorated on Sunday morning, and just as an air ambulance was being arranged to transport him for medical attention, he died.

However, Vanguard said he slumped and died after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the result of the election inconclusive.

The Scoop had a more interesting scoop.

The paper quoted Audu's relative to have said: “People rushed him to congratulate him after the elections in the 21 local government areas were announced. In the midst of the commotion, he started gasping for breath.”

In all the different versions of Audu’s death, one thing is consistent- the fact that he suffered a stroke, but the circumstances surrounding his passing remains in doubt.
