Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said, she is waiting for the next Finance minister to be named even as she advised her would-be successor to prepare for a “difficult year” because of dwindling oil revenues. The ex-minister also advised president Buhari to put together a team of economic experts that would do the work effectively.
The former World Bank Managing director while speaking to Bloomberg in Cape Town said although Nigeria is struggling in the face of a 40 per cent slump in crude oil prices, things would be better next year if it can get through the cash crunch and build on some of its assets. 60-year old Okonjo Iweala said, she is confident Buhari would find someone to manage the economy as the country is full of talented people.
