Buhari Reacts to Bomb Attack on Yobe IDP Camp

President Muhammadu Buhari, reacting to Friday's bomb attack on an internally displaced persons camp in Yobe, has directed security agencies to beef up security in all IDP camps in the country to guard another similar incidence.

Buhari condemned the bomb blast in the Malkohi camp, describing it as as heinous and cowardly, a statement by Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, says.

He said that the terrorists were bent on causing fear and panic among the populace by detonating bombs within soft spots where hapless citizens reside.

He encouraged members of the public to not be deterred “but rise in unison to root out whatever is left of the terrorists in our midst.”

“We must not let the desperate and evil-minded criminals have any respite. There’s now an urgent need for all to, by paying utmost attention to security issues at all levels – home, work, market, places of worship, schools, defeat terrorism.” he said.
