These personalities are very close to the office of Nigerian leader. They set the speed and dictate the tune of what will happen to the country in the years of this government together with the president.
This group of people is very influential:
1. Femi Adesina
The presidential media aide is known as the image maker of President Buhari. Adesina is there to defend Buhari’s decision and indecisions and also attack the“wailing wailers” of Nigerian youths as well as the opposition, just as Reuben Abati put it forward for the immediate past president Goodluck Jonathan.
The president personally said that he chose Adesina to always defend him against his fellow journalists.
2. Garba Shehu
One more special assistant on media and publicity is working in in agreement with the office of Buhari as a PR and signals every actions of the administration to the public. Shehu has no much story to tell than press releases putting much shoulder on the young and vibrant Adesina.
Garba’s role is to assist on how best to react to media issues and respond on general matters as it concerns the presidency not issuing statements on Buhari’s official engagements as we’ve been seeing.
3. Nasir El-Rufai
The incumbent governor of the Kaduna state is the key political adviser of President Buhari. El-Rufai reportedly screened list of the ministerial appointees before the submission of the list to the National Assembly.
El-Rufai was a young man just starting his quantity surveying consulting business when GMB emerged as the Head of State of Nigeria in 1983.
4. Bayo Omoboriowo
Young boy has already achieved amazing success becoming the official photographer of Nigerian president.
He is always everywhere with Buhari and doing a good business for the image and appearance of the leader of the nation everywhere he goes.
Bayo’s life is teaching young people that if they have a dream and follow it, everything is possible and doable.
5. Yemi Osinbajo
Professor Osinbajo is the 2nd citizen of Nigeria and so it is predictable that he will be in charge of the economic situation. This sector serves as the life wire of the country.
The executive functions of the Nigerian vice president comprises participation in all cabinet meetings and, by statute, membership in the National Security Council, the National Defence Council, Federal Executive Council, and the Chairman of National Economic Council.
Although the vice president may take an active role in establishing policy in the Executive Branch by serving on such committees and councils, the relative power of the Nigerian vice president’s office depends upon the duties delegated by the president.
When the president is away from country he substitutes him.
6. Major-General Tukur Buratai
The Chief of Army Staff in Buhari’s cabinet. He comes from Borno state, the ‘home’ of the militant sect Boko Haram.
Buratai is expected to help the president stop the insurgency in the North East and bring glory to the nation at the international scene in the fight against terrorism.
General Buratai becomes one more northerner appointed by President Buhari.
7. Rotimi Amaechi
An embattled ex-governor of Rivers state is a close associate of President Buhari and his moral burden. His screening as a minister for Buhari’s cabinet has been postponed several times because of accusation of corruption. However, Amaechi was finally confirmed and predicted as a minister for Niger Delta Affair.
The former governor was director general of the Buhari’s campaign organisation, a position he got after he was apparently passed over as nominee for the vice president slot.
